4 Charged In South Shore YMCA Thefts
One of the suspects was from North Hollywood, California, and police believe he is part of a national crime ring.
QUINCY, MA — Four people are facing charges after police said the suspects conducted an elaborate scheme at the South Shore YMCA, which resulted in credit cards and keys being stolen
Police told the Patriot Ledger that three men and one woman were each charged with one count of larceny from a building. All four suspects will be summoned in Quincy District Court, but police have withheld the names of three of the four suspects.
The one suspect police identified was Engi Rustem, 43, of North Hollywood, California. According to police, Rustem is a professional thief who is wanted on charges in six states. Police told the Patriot Ledger Rustem is believed to be part of a large national crime ring. The other three suspects are a Weymouth man, a 28-year-old Brighton man and a 30-year-old Stoughton woman.

On Feb. 6, Rustem and another suspect broke into at least three lockers at the Coddington Street YMCA, according to police. Police said the men took car keys from the lockers, broke into the cars and stole credit cards and other valuables. The suspects then returned the keys to the lockers they were taken from, police said.
Another suspect, was caught on security footage that same day at an apple store. Police said he used the stolen credit cards to buy cellphones at an Apple Store. Police said they were called to the YMCA gain on Feb. 8 for a similar incident.
