• Arraignment delayed for Mass. trooper accused in Quincy bar beating (boston25news.com) — A Massachusetts State Police trooper accused of assaulting a fellow trooper at Quincy's ReelHouse Marina Bay has entered a veterans treatment program that lets him avoid traditional prosecution for now. Investigators say video and witnesses describe multiple punches that left the victim briefly unconscious, and a judge has delayed arraignment while the trooper continues inpatient and outpatient treatment, with another court date expected in October.

• James 'Jim' Brogioli, 95 (theweektoday.com) — A Quincy native and Quincy High School graduate, James "Jim" Brogioli is being remembered for a life of faith, teaching, and coaching after his passing at 95 in Wareham. Raised in Quincy before serving in the Marines and becoming a beloved Wareham educator and coach, he leaves a large family and many former students; calling hours are Sunday and a funeral Mass follows Monday in Wareham.
