Suspect in Quincy Center Shooting Indicted

Cory Kisakye, 18, faces multiple firearm charges.

QUINCY, MA — A Quincy man who was allegedly involved in a shooting in Quincy Center was indicted on multiple charges.

Cory Kisakye, 18, is currently being held on $25,000 bail for a March 17 shooting. He was indicted by a grand jury on May 4 and will be arraigned in Norfolk Superior Court on a date to be determined, according to the Patriot Ledger.

At 1:51 p.m. on March 17, police responded to a report of gunshots fired behind Santander Bank on Hancock Street. Prosecutors allege that Kisakye and the juvenile intended to obtain marijuana from a person without paying for it. Multiple witnesses say that they saw an argument between the two suspects in the victim take place behind the bank and a person identified as the minor take a firearm out of his waste band before firing a shot that struck glass at the nearby Masonic Temple. Police say the two then fled the scene.

Following a search for suspects on foot and with helicopters, police found two individuals who matched the description of the suspects on the second floor of a parking garage at 1250 Hancock St., police said. When asked why they were in the garage, the two said they were students. When police asked for identification, the juvenile allegedly dropped his backpack, jumped 20 feet to the ground, and fled. Kisakye was taken into custody at the garage. Two guns, including one reported stolen in Providence, Rhode Island was found in the backpack, prosecutors said. The juvenile was located near the intersection of Newport Avenue and Hancock Street

Due to the juvenile's age, no information further information has been released.
