You can explore Archibald Campbell's seven months as a prisoner here, enjoy demonstrations by local artisans, and tour special exhibits from the Reading Antiquarian Society's collection, all within walking distance of downtown.
   

4. 🪙 Finance Committee (Fincom) 9-16-26 AI Recap (readingrecap.com) — Reading's Finance Committee dug into the proposed tax override, Killam School and Reading Center for Active Living debt, and how those choices could affect your annual tax bill by roughly $264 on average. Members also debated reserve and free cash policies, reviewed Burbank Ice Arena oversight, and outlined key October and November meetings that will shape the FY28 budget and Town Meeting warrant.
   

5. Samuel H. Williams Jr. Obituary (caledonianrecord.com) — Reading natives may remember Samuel H. Williams Jr., who grew up here before a Navy career, long tenure at Burndy Corporation in New Hampshire, and many years of family life split between the White Mountains and Falmouth.
