Salem Pedestrian Crash: Elderly Woman Airlifted After Being Struck on Highland Avenue
An elderly woman suffered serious injuries after she was struck by a vehicle on Highland Avenue and Proctor Street.

SALEM, MA — An elderly woman suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Thursday evening in Salem, according to Salem Police Lt. Matthew Desmond.
Desmond told Patch that the crash occurred at Highland Avenue and Proctor Street, and that the woman was transported by MedFlight to a Boston hospital. Initial reports began to come it at 5:15 p.m. The car involved in the crash remained on scene.
Multiple media and scanner reports originally indicated that the suspect vehicle had fled after striking the woman. However, police later confirmed that the vehicle involved did in fact remain on scene.
