Salem Man Arraigned for Alleged Pit Bull Abuse: Report
There had been several complaints to the Salem animal control regarding the man's alleged mistreatment of the dog.

PEABODY, MA — A Salem man was arraigned Monday on an animal cruelty charge for the alleged abuse of his pit bull, reports the Salem News. John Leger, 31, of Tremont Street in Salem plead not guilty in Peabody District Court Monday on a charge of animal cruelty.
Leger is accused of punching the dog repeatedly and dragging it by the collar from underneath a truck. The report further indicates that Salem's animal control officer had received several complaints of the man's alleged mistreatment of the dog.
Judge Richard Mori set Leger's bail at $25,000, according to the report.
