Salem Man Arrested on Domestic Assault Charges After Foot Chase

The man ran from the scene, leading police on a chase before he was arrested in the woods behind Salem High School.

SALEM, MA — A Salem man was arrested in the woods behind Salem High School after leading police on a foot chase from his home on Highland Avenue, according to Salem Police Capt. Conrad Prosniewski.

Kyle Hope, 24, of Highland Avenue was arrested Wednesday on charges of domestic assault and resisting arrest. Prosniewski told Patch that when police responded to Hope's Highland Avenue address Wednesday morning for a domestic call, Hope fled the scene on foot.

Prosniewski said that Hope and his girlfriend were having an argument, and that he allegedly assaulted her. During the chase, dispatchers informed officers on scene through radio frequencies that the suspect had prior firearm-related charges, and that officers should use caution.
