Salem Pedestrian Crash: Man Airlifted After Being Struck on Loring Avenue
Police responded to a pedestrian crash on Loring Avenue in Salem Tuesday morning.

SALEM, MA — A person was been struck by a vehicle on Loring Avenue Tuesday morning and suffered serious injuries, according to Salem Police Lt. Marc Berube.
The victim, a 46-year-old man, suffered serious leg injuries and was transport by MedFlight to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Berube told Patch that the man was responsive, but had suffered from visible leg injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, and Berube told Patch that the driver admitted to being distracted by his passenger at the time of the crash.
