Concussion Awareness Clinic

Shrewsbury Pop Warner is pleased to offer a new IMPACT concussion program in partnership with St.Vincent’s Hospital.

This program is designed to provide a baseline concussion
test to all athletes in contact sports. Children, 10 and above take a 20 minute test that determines a baseline for cognitive functions and awareness. This information is entered into a National Database, which is available in every state, to access as a reference and comparison after a suspected concussion.  Medical professionals can use this to determine a more accurate diagnoses and treatment procedure.

As partners with St. Vincent’s, Shrewsbury Pop Warner is
able to offer this testing to their league participants for only $10.00 per athlete!  If you are interested in having your child screened, please contact JoAnn Piefrafite at  joann.piedrafite@stvincenthospital.com or Jana Griffin-Koehler at jana.griffinkoehler@stvincenthospital.com
to schedule your test.  You must specify that you are a Pop Warner participant to be eligible for the group rate.

If you are interested in coaching football or cheerleading
this year, or if you have a child that participates in a contact sport, please plan on attending this important clinic.  We will need a head count, so please contact Kristy
Crutchfield at vicepresident@syfca.com to reserve your spot!  All Access Fitness will also be there providing important strength training information for all athletes.  We will be accepting player registration at this event!
