Davis Square Theatre Presents Michael Hurley
Somerville hotspot welcomes American folk singer
WHAT: On April 17, the Davis Square Theatre will set the stage for legendary American folk finger, Michael Hurley. Hurley's music sounds traditional, like it has always existed, and yet it is simultaneously singular. With influences stemming from the beatniks in the NYC Village in the early ‘60s, the hippies in Vermont, Americana fans, indie rockers and freak folkers alike, Hurley’s music never fails to find fresh new ears with an appreciation for his unique sound. Pressed for a description, Hurley has described it as, "jazz-hyped blues and country and western music.”
With scarce East Coast appearances in the last decade, this performance will bring together dedicated revelers to celebrate this rare appearance on Somerville’s stage.
