Drugs, Ammo Found At Somerville Home: SPD Police Files

SOMERVILLE, MA – A Somerville man was arrested last week after police allegedly found drugs and ammunition in his Broadway apartment. Noberto Bairos, 30, faces charges of possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card, possession of a Class C drug with intent to distribute and possession of a Class E drug with intent to distribute.
Police conducted a warrant search of Bairos' apartment on June 21 as part of an investigation by the Somerville Police Drug Control Unit. According to police records, officers entered the first and second floors of the home on Broadway at 3:10 p.m. and brought two people to the first floor while they searched the premises.
At that point, Bairos was seen walking toward the home, and police informed him that they had a search warrant for his residence. He was asked to sit in his living room while the search was conducted, police said.

K-9 units from the Somerville Police Department, ATF and Park Rangers performed a scent search of the home and basement. One of the dogs found a blue bag in the basement area and a second bag allegedly containing two spent 9-mm casings, according to police. Five 9-mm rounds, 132 white pills believed to be Gabapentin – a nerve pain medication, several jars filled with a tan liquid believed to be THC hash oil and more than $4,000 were also allegedly found, police said.
The alleged Gabapentin pills were separated into a bag of 35, another bag of 20, a bottle of 52 and a second bottle of 25. The bottles did not have a name on them, police said. Police also allegedly found a digital scale, glassine baggies, rolls of anti-scent bags and a food saver vacuum sealer.

Bairos allegedly told police that he had not been working and could not explain where he got the money. Police said they believed he was selling the Gabapentin and THC oil, and he allegedly replied that he usually does not take them and sometimes gives them to a woman.
