East Somerville Foodie Crawl News Video
On September 16, crowds gathered in East Somerville to get a taste of the foods and drinks that can be found along Broadway.

Sixteen restaurants set up booths or opened their doors and served mini-bites of their best dishes for the crowds at the annual event organized by East Somerville Main Streets.
Twenty dollars got strollers a bracelet that was more like a passport to culinary adventure.

“I love interesting food, I like supporting community restaurants and it’s a great thrill for me to eat so many different kinds of food in half an hour!” Somerville resident Fredi Dworkin told Somerville Neighborhood News.
Crawlers sometimes had to stand in line, and restaurant owners and workers were under constant pressure to baste, fold, scoop, drizzle, slice and spoon for several hours, but it was worth it.

“I think it’s an awesome idea,” said Marlo Alarcon of Taqueria Montecristo, one of the participating restaurants. “Get everybody out to try something different. And about tonight’s event? I love it.”
The varieties of food offered ranged from vegetarian tacos to classic bar food and even blueberry cobbler with cream. Joe’s Liquors even offered tastes of wine.
The event was supported by many other local businesses.
“It’s really fun. I like the food, I like the people, it’s really warm,” said Leandra Alcantara as she stood in line outside a restaurant. “It’s a little bit cold out, but it’s warm.”
