"Greens from the Garden, Blooms from the Store"

Tom Sopko, Somerville Garden Club member and experienced floral designer, will create casual and inexpensive summer arrangements using garden foliage and store-bought blooms. He will use a variety of foliage from his own yard, and talk about conditioning cut plant material for use in arrangements. Tom will make three arrangements in simple containers, all suitable for use as a centerpiece, or as an accent on a coffee table or buffet.

The Somerville Garden Club meets the second Wednesday of every month and the public is invited to attend. Meetings open with club announcements, followed by a horticultural question-and-answer segment, a featured lecture or demonstration, and conclude with a raffle of donated plants and garden items. Parking is available, and the building is a ten-minute walk from the Davis Square MBTA station.
