One City, One Story: I Went Walking in Somerville

A Storywalk™ is a literacy and fitness initiative that posts a children’s book, page-by-page, along a visible walking route.

This is a fun way for families, caregivers and educators to encourage outdoor learning as well as literacy in young children.

Focusing on one book that will become familiar is a concrete way for young children to see that adults all around them care about books, reading and storytelling.

Somerville’s Storywalk™  will feature I Went Walking by Sue Williams and Julie Vivas.

Start at the Atrium for the story from 2 p.m to 3 p.m., then follow the walking trail to the Growing Center!

There will be activities at the Growing Center from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
