Former Funeral Director Who Allegedly Kept Human Remains in Storage Facilities Held on Bail

A former funeral director, who allegedly stored human remains in East Somerville and Weymouth storage facilities, was arraigned Monday and held on $50,000 bail, according to NECN.
In addition to allegedly improperly storing the remains, Joseph O’Donnell, 56, of Mattapan, took $12,000 from an elderly couple to cover two funerals that he never conducted, authorities said.

In early October, O’Donnell was indicted on 278 counts. He was initially charged in July.
