Grand Jury Indictments Announced: 10 Somerville Cases Included

All of Somerville's Grand Jury Indictments involve those under 50 years of age.

SOMERVILLE, MA—Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan announced multiple Grand Jury indictments Monday, including ten that involve Somerville cases and area residents.

Here is a look at the indictments:

  • Martin Acosta-Rosario, 23, of Somerville, was charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a license and carrying a firearm without a license. The Assistant District Attorney is Kevin Collins.
  • Henry Alvarez, 18, of Somerville, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and armed robbery. The Assistant District Attorney is Ceara Mahoney.
  • Christopher Carney, 43, of Austin, Texas, was charged with aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, indecent assault and battery (2 counts), and witness intimidation. The Assistant District Attorney is Nicole Allain.
  • Nicholas Lewis, 18, of Chelsea, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and armed robbery. The Assistant District Attorney is Ceara Mahoney.
  • Mario Mestanza-Moran, 19, of Revere, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (2 counts), armed masked robbery, and home invasion. The Assistant District Attorney is Doug Nagengast.
  • Tevon Ngomba, 23, of Somerville, was charged with armed assault to murder, possession of a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a license, possession of a loaded firearm, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and being an armed career criminal. The Assistant District Attorney is Kate Kleimola.
  • Matthew Smith, 47, of Everett, was charged with unarmed robbery, subsequent offense. The Assistant District Attorney is Kevin Collins.
  • Edward Stanford, 25, of Somerville, was charged with possession of a Class A substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance, illegal possession of ammunition without a license, and conspiracy to violate the drug laws. The Assistant District Attorney is William Freeman.
  • Samuel Stanford, 29, of Somerville, was charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime, larceny of a firearm, use of a large capacity weapon during the commission of a felony, possession of a Class A substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance, illegal possession of ammunition without a license, and conspiracy to violate the drug laws. The Assistant District Attorney is William Freeman.
  • Paul Venuti, 36, of Medford, was charged with unarmed robbery. The Assistant District Attorney is Radu Brestyan.
