Halloween Racing at Suffolk Downs

Food Trucks, Family, and FUN!!

The final live Thoroughbred race day for 2015 at Suffolk Downs will take place on Halloween, Saturday, October 31. Crowds totaling over 18,000 have packed the grandstands during the first two of three special festival days of racing.

This last day of racing on October 31 will include 10 races, 12 food trucks, craft beer, live music and family fun activities. Kids will receive a trick or treat bag (while supplies last) and will be able to visit the food trucks and “Trick or Treat at the Trucks”. In addition. Magic 106.7 will be on-site with giveaways and great prizes.

Gates open at 10:30 a.m. and first post for live racing is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. In addition to live racing, fans will be able to watch and wager on the Breeders’ Cup World Championships from Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky which will showcase the top horses, jockeys and trainers from around the world. Triple Crown champion American Pharoah is scheduled to compete in the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1).

Some familiar faces from the trainer and jockey colony will be returning for the races as well as some of the top players from racetracks across the East Coast to compete for purse money in excess of half a million dollars. On October 3, Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott sent out Tuttipaesi (IRE) to win the inaugural running of the $75,000 Suffolk Downs Distaff Turf Stakes.

Come enjoy a day of racing tradition but be sure to come hungry, some of Boston’s favorite food trucks will be at Suffolk Downs on October 31 including Roxy’s Grilled Cheese, Daddy’s Bonetown Burgers, Trolley Dogs, Frozen Hoagies and much, much more. Enjoy everything from Asian cuisine to burgers to waffles to barbeque and more!
