ICYMI: Somerville Mayor on Trump: 'I Guess Any Idiot Can Run For Office'

SOMERVILLE, MA – Like Donald Trump, Joseph Curtatone is never far from the headlines. But unlike the Republic presidential nominee, the Somerville mayor doesn't believe sanctuary cities like Somerville should be punished for being home to illegal immigrants.

Curtatone spoke to Fox25's Sharman Sachetti regarding Trump's comments in Phoenix Thursday that sanctuary cities shouldn't get "taxpayer dollars," as Trump put it.

"I thought if you were a billionaire, you had to have some sense or have some knowledge - I guess any idiot can run for office," Curtatone told Fox25.

Sanctuary cities are cities that have policies in place not to prosecute illegal immigrants solely for their immigration status.
