Lion's Head Landmark Moving To Somerville GLX Stop
The 91-year-old Homans Building lion's head was removed last month and will be put up at one of the upcoming stations.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The lion's head looming out over Somerville from the Homans Building will live on at an upcoming Green Line stop. The stone sculpture, which was built 91 years ago for Monarch Finer Foods, was removed in September and will hang over the upcoming Gilman Square stop on Medford Street, according to the Somerville Journal.
It's one of a few pieces from the building that will be incorporated into the Gilman Square station and a planned park, the Journal reported. The building has been "preferably preserved" by the historic commission but was determined to be "structurally compromised" four years ago.
It will eventually be demolished as part of the construction of the new station.
