Sandwiched Cars Lead To OUI Charge, Assembly Row Shoplifting, Assault: Somerville Police Blotter

Tuesday, May 23

• Liliana Araujo, 20, of Roxbury, was arrested at 6:20 p.m. and charged with larceny over $250 after allegedly attempting to steal several bottles of perfume from the Saks at Assembly Row.

Saturday, May 27

• Daniela Romania, 27, of Medford, was arrested at 3:15 a.m. and charged with operating under the influence of liquor. Early Saturday morning, police responded to a car crash on Cedar Avenue, where a white Kia Rio was sandwiched between a cinder block wall and a Honda CRV. The driver of the Kia was trapped inside, and the Honda had to be moved so she could get out. The driver, Romania, had a minor scrape on her chin and refused medical attention. She allegedly told police she was coming from a bar in Somerville and said, "Why don't you just arrest me, I've been drinking." Police had her recite the alphabet, and after allegedly leaving out two letters, she refused any more sobriety tests. Police described her as unsteady on her feet, with red and glassy eyes and a "strong" odor of alcohol coming from her breath.

• Namron Norman Holder, 21, of Somerville, was arrested at 10:01 a.m. for Somerville warrant charges of larceny of a person and assault with a dangerous weapon.

• Juan Jerry Cruz, 20, of Somerville, was arrested at 11:55 a.m. and charged with receiving stolen property over $250.

Sunday, May 28

• Shaun Morgan, 44, of Peabody, was arrested at 10:56 p.m. and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
