Sean Collier Honored At 'Ride To Remember'

Collier, a Somerville resident and MIT campus police officer, was among the fallen Massachusetts officers remembered over the weekend.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Cyclists traveled the 106 miles from Springfield to Boston Saturday for the fifth annual "Ride to Remember." The event honors fallen Massachusetts officers and concludes with a ceremony at the Law Enforcement Memorial at the state house.

Among those honored this year was Sean Collier, a Somerville resident and MIT campus police officer who was killed by Boston Marathon bombers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev days after the attacks. Collier was also a sergeant in the Somerville Auxiliary Police Department.

This year's ride was dedicated to Massachusetts state trooper Thomas Clardy and Auburn police officer Ronald Tarentino, Jr., who were both killed in the line of duty in 2016. Officers Gregg Maloney of the Plymouth Police Department, Jose Torres of the Westfield Police Department, Kevin Ambrose of the Springfield Police Department, and John Dinapoli of the Holyoke Police Department were also honored.
