Shots Fired (Figuratively) in Ball Square Breakfast War

The battle for Ball Square breakfast supremacy rages on in Somerville.

Much has been made of the long-standing feud between Sound Bites and Ball Square Café (the two owners even came to blows in 2010), but recently, a third party entered the fray.

Kelly’s Diner certainly isn’t the new kid on the block – it’s been around for nearly 20 years – but recently, owner Jay Holmes got involved in the feud by taking jabs at both competitors, without naming names, with the following message to customers posted on the diner’s front window:

*ATTENTION WARNING* I recently reviewed my competitors prices on (their) new menu and was shocked!! At Kelly’s, we try to provide you with the best product for the most reasonable price. Apparently. They do not! The only reason to justify charging $15.00 for breakfast is simple: Greed. This is America and they have the right to charge whatever they want. But people are not stupid. Please be sure to compare prices and value. Thanks for reading, Jay Holmes, Owner of Kelly’s
