Somerville Accepting Preliminary Applications for Community Preservation Funding
The Community Preservation Committee will review submitted proposals for historic resources, open spaces and recreation land projects.
SOMERVILLE, MA – Through the Community Preservation Act, Somerville has more than $1.5 million in funding available for historic resources, open spaces and recreation land projects.
Residents, organizations and businesses are invited to submit applications to see if they qualify for funding. All eligibility determination forms must be submitted to Somerville's CPA Manager Kristen Stelljes by Sep. 21 at 5 p.m.
Ahead of applying, interested parties may attend two workshops to learn more about the application process:

• Thursday, Aug. 25, 6 p.m. at Visiting Nurse Association, 3rd Floor Conference Room, 259 Lowell St.
• Tuesday, Aug. 30, 9 a.m. at City Hall, 3rd Floor Conference Room, 93 Highland Ave.
The city strongly encourages prospective applicants to attend the workshops; those interested must RSVP to Stelljes at KStelljes@somervillema.gov and note if the project falls in the category of historic resources, open space, recreation land or blended.

The Community Preservation Committee will review the proposals and notify applicants by mid-October if their proposal is eligible for CPA funding. If approved, they will then move onto the full application process.
Forms and additional application materials can be downloaded here and must be emailed to Stelljes upon completion.
