Somerville Awarded Over $240K In Early Education Funding
The Baker-Polito administration this week announced $46 million in funding to early education and care programs in Massachusetts.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The City of Somerville was awarded $243,730 in early education funding this week by the Baker-Polito administration. The administration announced $46 million in grants to 10 initiatives that support early education and care programs across the state.
The bulk of funding – $13 million – was awarded to the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Networks, which provide early learning opportunities for young children in informal community-based settings and offer programming for parents and families that increase support of children's learning and development.
Somerville was one of 89 grants included in the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Networks, which served over 100,000 families in Massachusetts last year.
