Somerville Bakery Holds Record-Setting Sean Collier Fundraiser

This is the fifth year Lyndell's has raised money to benefit the SAPD Sean Collier Memorial Scholarship Fund.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The Sean Collier Fundraiser at Lyndell's Bakery boasted a record-setting haul over the weekend, raising over $10,000 for the first time in five years. The bakery's annual sale donates $1 from every "Half-Moon" cookie with Collier's badge number 310 on it to the SAPD Sean Collier Memorial Scholarship Fund and hosts raffles for sports memorabilia, gift cards and more.

The fund, created in Collier's memory, helps Somerville High School seniors pursue careers in law enforcement. Collier, a Somerville resident, was a sergeant in the Somerville Auxiliary Police Department and MIT police officer. He was killed by Boston Marathon bombers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev days after the attacks.

Lyndell's Bakery announced on Facebook that the sale raised $10,455, bringing the fundraiser's five-year total to $36,245.
