Somerville HONK! Festival Road Closures, Traffic Delays

Here's what you need to know about navigating traffic during the festival.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The HONK! Festival returns to Somerville this weekend, and while the lineup of talented musical acts, parades, street vendors and activities are sure to provide entertainment for all, they will also necessitate some travel changes throughout the weekend.

According to the City of Somerville, here's what you need to know about traveling during the festival:

  • On Saturday, Oct. 8, and Sunday, Oct. 9, streets in the Davis Square area will be closed for the annual HONK! Festival and Parade.
  • On Saturday, Elm St. from Dover St. to Cutter Ave. will be closed to vehicles from noon to approximately 9 p.m. Cars will be detoured onto Dover St.
  • On Sunday, Davis Square and side streets including Chester St., Day St., and Herbert St. will be closed to vehicles from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to accommodate the annual HONK! Festival Parade. The Herbert St. parking lot will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. Other side roads in this area may temporarily be closed as the parade passes through.
