Somerville Lt. Paul Sullivan Laid to Rest in Wakefield

Friends, family and members of the Massachusetts firefighting community made their way to St. Joseph Church in Wakefield on Wednesday to pay their final respects to Somerville Lt. Paul Sullivan.

The Somerville Fire Department announced on Saturday that Sullivan had passed due to a battle with occupational cancer. Appointed in 1989, Sullivan was a part of the fire department 26 years.

Sullivan is survived by his wife Linda and three children. Memorial contributions can be made to Granara-Skerry Trust benefitting pancreatic cancer research. Internment will take place at the Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield later on Wednesday.
