Somerville Man Charged With Indecent Assault At T Stop

SOMERVILLE, MA – A Somerville man was arrested Monday and charged in a reported assault at the Broadway T stop. A 28-year-old woman told Transit Police she was indecently assaulted from behind by an unknown man while walking up the escalator around 7:20 p.m.

She told police another man witnessed the assault and pulled the suspect away from her. The witness identified Jose Nunez, 28, as the assailant, police said.

Arresting officers said Nunez admitted to the assault and stated, "What's the big deal? I wanted to do it." He was placed into custody and taken to TPD headquarters.
