Somerville Man Cuffed For Exposing Self to Woman

A 22-year-old Somerville man is facing charges of open and gross lewdness as a result of an incident that occurred in Cambridge.

Cambridge Police have arrested Malcolm Alaimo-Defeo after he allegedly exposed himself to a woman who was shopping at a store in Porter Square, reports Wicked Local Cambridge. Alaimo-Defeo reportedly asked the woman for a hug, and upon her refusal exposed his genitals to her. The woman reported the incident to the store at which time her boyfriend unsuccessfully attempted to chase after Alaimo-Defeo.

Police later arrested Alaimo-Defeo on the charges.

To be convicted of open and gross lewdness, a prosecutor must prove that the exposure occurred, that it was done intentionally, that it was done openly, that it was done in a way to shock or to produce distress and that it caused one or more persons shock or distress. A convicted individual could face up to three years in state prison or a fine of up to $300.
