Somerville Masseur Indicted For Sexual Assaults Of Clients: DA

A local masseuse has been charged with the alleged sexual assaults of four women at his Somerville massage business.

SOMERVILLE, MA – A Somerville masseuse has been accused of sexual assault by four first-time clients of his massage business, the Middlesex District Attorney's office said. Karma Bodywork owner Joshua Bohrer, 37, was indicted by a Middlesex Superior Court grand jury Tuesday on two counts of rape. He was previously indicted Jan. 31 on two counts of rape and one count of indecent assault and battery stemming from alleged assaults of two different women in 2016.

All four women told police that during the course of their massages, Bohrer inappropriately touched them, the DA's office said. Police received the initial complaints from two women between May and August of 2016. Bohrer was directly indicted and released on the condition that he not have any female massage clients.

On Nov. 6, a third woman told police she had been sexually assaulted by Bohrer on Oct. 31, according to the DA. He was arrested Nov. 7 and held without bail.

A fourth woman came forward Dec. 8 and accused Bohrer of inappropriately touching her during a massage on Sept. 29, authorities said.
