Somerville Mayor, Bristol Sheriff Will Face Off on UMass Panel
Mayor Curtatone and Sheriff Hodgson face each other Thursday after slinging venom last week.

SOMERVILLE, MA – A contentious war of words between Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone and Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson will come to a head Thursday when the two sit on a panel at the University of Massachusetts School of Law's Immigration: Beyond The Wall symposium.
Last week, Hodgson suggested arrest warrants should be issued for officials in sanctuary cities during testimony in front of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security. Curtatone hit back, calling Hodgson a "jack-booted thug" and issuing a brazen challenge: "Come and get me."
Now the two will sit on a panel about – what else – sanctuary cities at UMass Law. They will be joined by Newton City Councilor Emily Norton and Massachusetts Immigration and Refugee Advocacy Coalition Federal Policy Director Sarang Sekhavat.
