Somerville Mayor to Co-Headline Suffolk Sanctuary City Forum
Mayor Curtatone will speak at Suffolk University on Thursday.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone will co-headline a forum at Suffolk University on Thursday about sanctuary cities and their impact on immigration policy.
Curtatone has arguably emerged as the poster boy of the sanctuary movement – or at least been its most vocal supporter – in Massachusetts. The mayor has not shied away from calling out President Trump's immigration orders on social media and in press conferences and vowing to protect his city's immigrants.
New England School of Law Professor Dina Haynes will headline with Curtatone. The two will tackle questions such as the precise definition of a "sanctuary city" and if municipalities establishing sanctuary ordinances is the best method for promoting immigrant rights.
