Somerville Shooting Suspect Caught
A 17-year-old wanted in the fatal shooting of a Malden teen last week was arrested Tuesday in Arlington.
SOMERVILLE, MA – The suspect in the fatal shooting of a Malden teen in Somerville was arrested Tuesday in Arlington, police said. Jonathan Perry, 17, was sought in connection with the death of 16-year-old Tenzin Kunkhyen.
Perry's last known address was 14 Farragut Avenue – the residence where Kunkhyen was shot last week. He is being held without bail pending his arraignment for warrant charges of manslaughter; aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; and carrying a firearm without a license. He also has an outstanding arrest warrant out of Worcester Juvenile Court.
The shooting was reported around 5 p.m. on Aug. 29. Police arrived to find Kunkhyen suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Mount Auburn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following the shooting, Perry fled the scene, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney's office.
He will be arraigned in Cambridge Juvenile Court on a delinquency complaint.

A second person, Keith Harlow, 31, was arrested at the same Arlington apartment, police said. He is being held on three outstanding arrest warrants charging him with possession of a Class A substance (heroin); resisting arrest; disorderly conduct; and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
