Somerville's 1st Annual AgriCultural Festival Coming in October

This homegrown festival will celebrate Somerville's farmers, artists and urban agricultural programs.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Somerville will host its first AgriCultural Festival Oct. 1 to celebrate all that comes from the earth and honor those who grow them.

Farmers, artists and urban agricultural programs in Somerville will all receive recognition at the festival, which runs from 3 to 7 p.m. this Saturday.

All are invited to attend and share what you grow, as well as receive tips and tricks from other local growers. The festival includes displays of local produce, bees and chickens, hands-on demonstrations and participatory art and opportunities to learn from urban agriculturalists.

From 5:30 to 7 p.m., attendees will be treated to square dancing for both beginning and experienced dancers, led by Old-Time Square Dance with the Dead Sea Squirrels and Tony Parkes.

The festival is produced by ArtsUnion, in conjunction with the City of Somerville Arts and several local artists and community partners. It will take place at ArtFarm, 10 Poplar St. in Somerville.
