Three Design-Build Firms on Short List for Green Line Extension Project
Under the project contract, a single firm will be responsible for the design and construction of the GLX.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The MBTA has narrowed down the number of firms eligible for the Green Line Extension Project's design-build contract to three after evaluating a series of Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) for the project.
Under the contract, a single firm will be responsible for the design and construction of the GLX.
"The strong interest in the project from these highly-regarded firms underscores that the project is being taken as seriously by the design build industry as it is by MassDOT and the MBTA," John Dalton, program manager, said in a statement. "These firms have the well-earned reputation for delivering complex projects in the United States and abroad and we are pleased that they are demonstrating an interest in working with us to successfully deliver this Project."
