Unlicensed Driver Arrested in Somerville Following Traffic Stop
Willya Lacerda was arrested after police observed him commit multiple traffic violations.

An unlicensed driver was arrested in Somerville over the weekend after police conducted a traffic stop at 5 Babcock Street.
Police pulled over a green GMC work truck after observing the driver blow through a red traffic signal. Police say the driver crossed two other lanes of vehicles, which were stopped for the light, before proceeding north on Harvard Street.
The driver, identified as Willya Lacerda, of 8 Walter Terrace in Somerville, was arrested at the scene. Police conducted an RMV check and learned Lacerda did not have an active driver’s license.

Lacerda was issued multiple citations, including not duly licensed, a red light violation and an unsafe lane change violation.
The incident remains under investigation.
