WATCH: Somerville And Boston Are 'Never, Ever, Ever Getting Back Together'

In a video set to Adele and Taylor Swift hits, Mayor Curtatone tells Mayor Walsh Boston can't have Somerville back.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Somerville Mayor Joe Curtatone and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh released a joint video Wednesday celebrating Somerville's 175th anniversary. Set to pop hits "Hello" and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," the mayors satirized the two cities' "break-up," and indicated that the split – though amicable – is permanent.

"We shared a lot of great memories with our old friend Charlestown," Curtatone said. "Like that late night, moonlit horseback ride with our friend Paul Revere. And we can still remember our very first phone call from the phone on Lincoln Street, with the number one. Oh the memories."

But Somerville has moved on – "we've grown," Curtatone quipped, and declared the city "Charlestown's cooler sibling."

Meanwhile Walsh gave Somerville one final chance to take Boston back before conceding defeat.

"We don't need you, and your hip restaurants, and your Lonely Planet designation as one of the best places to live in the nation, and your Fluff Festival," he said. "We're fine. We've moved on. But don't come crying to us when you want some spots on the Duck Boat in the next Boston championship parade."

The two ended the video on good terms, with Walsh congratulating Somerville on 175 years of independence.
