New Salon Coming Soon to Stoneham

She has been in a tiny salon of 200 square feet working by herself for seven years, but that is all about to change as Helaine Marie Buonopane is planning to open her very own salon as soon as the second week of March.

The salon, which will be called Helaine Marie and have independent contractor stylists, is located at 366 Main St. 

“I'm actually moving my salon into a bigger location and now offering spa services,” Buonopane said.

Stoneham has been on her radar for some time now and she is very excited about the move.

“I chose Stoneham because it's a really great town," Buonopane said. "We're just looking forward to working together in a peaceful, stress-free rejuvenating environment."

Buonopane said she isn't worried about the number of salons and competition surrounding her. She believes her experience will make her successful.

“As for competition, we aren't looking at it that way," Buonopane said. "Although our prices (will be) significantly cheaper than surrounding salons, we are continually educating ourselves to keep up with the latest styles.

"All of us have been through extensive training in coloring, cutting, and Brazilian blowouts. Our most important thing is customer service."

Buonopane said building relationships is another important aspect of being a successful business.

“We want to pamper our clients," Buonopane said. "Building a rapport to be well-known as a 'pampering' salon would be great."
