Local Stoughton Businesses Extend Hand To Grieving Students

E Alves' Cleaning Service owner Eduarda Romero-Alves designed shirts with the names of all of the victims on the back.

STOUGHTON, MA — Local businesses E Alves' Cleaning Service and Express Graphics and Signs are trying to help a grieving community by making shirts and stickers for Stoughton High students who lost classmates Chris Desir, Eryck Sarblah, Nick Joyce, and David Bell in an East Bridgewater car crash Saturday.

E Alves' Cleaning Service owner Eduarda Romero-Alves designed shirts with the names of all of the victims on the back. Above the Stoughton High School mascot, the shirt reads "Forever in our hearts."

Romero-Alves is donating 500 shirts for the students at Stoughton High School.

Wesley dos Santos, the owner of Express Graphics and Signs, is printing the shirts and donating an additional 200 of them. Santos said Romero-Alves is paying for the printing cost of 500 of the shirts, but he's not making a profit off of them.

Having been in business in Stoughton for 20 years, Romero-Alves said she's always liked to help the community.

"When something like this happens, I was trying to think about what I can do to make a difference," she said. "I thought it would be great to create something and design something that would, you know, I think the kids would really love."

Romero-Alves' son, a student at Stoughton High, was friends with Bell and Joyce. She said that also inspired her to extend a hand.

When she first found out about the accident, Romero-Alves said she screamed.

"I was terrified and very scared...All I could think of is, 'Oh my gosh, is my son with them?' So it was terrifying."

Santos said he's donating shirts, stickers and signs because he's lived in Stoughton for 14 years.

"It's not about the tragedy it's about remembering," he said.

Both shirts and stickers are still in production. They will be donated to the school in the coming days.
