Stoughton Voters Bring Mokrisky Back To Selectmen
After on and off again stints on the selectmen, Joseph Mokrisky returns, unseating Richard Hill.

STOUGHTON, MA — Joseph Mokrisky has returned to the Board of Selectmen after residents Tuesday night voted to unseat Richard Hill and bring back the former selectmen. Voters made decisions on two other contested races, including school committee and redevelopment authority.
Mokrisky and Hill's race was close with only 118 votes separating the two candidates. Mokrisky defeated Hill 1049-931.
But every vote's value was magnified by the fact most of the town's registered voters didn't show up to the polls. According to the unofficial results, just 10.4 percent of eligible voters cast a ballot.

Mokrisky has served on the board on and off since 1992. He was last elected a selectman in 2014, but did not seek re-election in 2017. Hill was elected in 2017's recall election, which saw three selectmen lose their seats, following the town's controversial removal of former Town Manager Michael Hartman.
In the town's two other contested races, incumbents Joseph McDonough and Anita Hill held off a challenge from Erdem Ural. Hill led with 1162 votes, while MCDonough finished with 1,086, and Ural had 789. Mark Zamanian unseated Michael Barrett for the spot on the town's redevelopment authority, winning 941-874.
