To do so, the Sudbury Board of Selectmen called a Special Town Meeting for residents to vote on the regional agreement on Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.
According to the new agreement, towns wishing to exit the district can do so by June 30, 2017, and after, would need approval from a majority of the members, reports the MetroWest Daily News.

Not everyone agrees. “I think there are several good reasons for Sudbury not to withdraw from the Minuteman District,” wrote Deborah Peters in a letter to the editor on Sudbury Patch. “The most compelling reason is what I have learned from personal experience, as a parent, because my son is one of the students from Sudbury who goes to Minuteman High School.”
All 16 towns are holding special town meetings to vote on the new regional plan.
