'Malicious Damage' Done to Boy Scout Camp

More than $20,000 worth of damage occurred at the Nobscott Scout Reservation in Sudbury over the weekend.

Police are asking for help to find the person, or people, responsible for vandalizing the Nobscott Scout Reservation over the weekend.

Some time between Oct. 18 and Oct. 20, someone broke in to the reservation, which is owned and operated by the Knox Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America, and is located on Nobscot Road in Sudbury and Framingham.

Police say the perpetrators got in to the building and “once inside, malicious damage occurred.” Also, the windows in the on-site vehicle were smashed. The cost to repair the damage will be in excess of $20,000.

The circumstances are being investigated by the Sudbury Police Department with the full cooperation and assistance of the Boy Scouts of America administration.

“The Knox Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America provides public access to hiking trails at the facility,” said Police Chief Scott Nix. “This is an outstanding community resource and should be treated with respect.”

The Knox Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America and the Sudbury Police Department ask anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or have information relating to the incident to contact Sudbury Detectives, and also urge those using the facility to be aware of any future suspicious activity.
