Sudbury residents graduate from The Rivers School in Weston
Five Sudbury residents were among 90 students to graduate from The Rivers School in Weston on Friday, June 12.
WESTON, MA—Five Sudbury residents were among 90 students to graduate from The Rivers School in Weston on Friday, June 12.
Kyle D. Calder was a high-honor student who found great success in the classroom, on the athletic fields, and in his community. He was a member of the varsity football and lacrosse teams, earning the Unsung Hero Award for football as a senior. Away from Rivers, Kyle amassed an impressive record of community service and earned distinction for his efforts through the Presidential Service Award program and The Whooley Foundation in Watertown. The son of Bill and Martha Calder, he will attend Middlebury College in the fall.
Patrick T. Daley, an honor roll student, was an enthusiastic and dedicated member of both the varsity ice hockey team and men’s chorus. He was an All-ISL selection as a senior and was chosen by the league’s coaches as the recipient of the Flood Shield, given annually to “the player whose enthusiasm for hockey and true devotion to the game is marked by his playing ability and physical toughness.” The son of Pat and Stacey Daley, Paddy will attend Colby College in the fall of 2016.

Ani K. Harlan was a high honor roll student whose positive example earned her the Middle School’s F. Ervin Prince Citizenship Award and the role of Student Advisor as a senior in the Upper School. She was a four-year member of the varsity track & field team and was named a captain her senior year. Ani participated in the school’s productions of “Almost, Maine” and “Into the Woods,” and was also a Red Key tour guide. The daughter of Ed and Lori Harlan, she will attend University of Vermont in the fall.
Kayleigh O. Rahbany, a high honor roll student and National Merit Commended Scholar, was elected to the Cum Laude Society at Prize Day on June 11. She shared her love of math as a teaching assistant for younger students, was co-president of the school’s Philosophy Club and a member of Red Key, giving campus tours to prospective families. A talented and dedicated athlete, she played varsity ice hockey all four years, and was a member of the field hockey and lacrosse teams as an underclassman. She also played club hockey for the East Coast Wizards and volunteers at various youth hockey camps. The daughter of Russell and Sarah Rahbany, she will attend Washington & Lee University in the fall.

Nicholas R. Sia, a high honors student, was a teaching assistant for underclassmen in math this year. A talented athlete, he played varsity soccer for four years and was named All ISL in 2014. He was also a member of the varsity golf team and served as captain as a senior. With a strong interest in government, Nick joined the debate team and assumed leadership of the team this year. The son of Jim and Cindy Sia, he will attend Bucknell University in the fall.
