Sudbury School Committee Races Heat Up: 2023 Town Election
There are now six people running for seats on the two local school committees. See who else has pulled papers to run this spring.

SUDBURY, MA — Races for seats on two Sudbury school committees are quickly becoming the hottest races of the spring.
Almost two weeks after the filing period opened on Jan. 6, six candidates — including three incumbents — have pulled papers to run for seats on the Sudbury School Committee and the Lincoln-Sudbury High School Committee.
In the Sudbury School Committee races, three incumbents have pulled papers to run, plus Sudbury Commission on Disability member Karyn Jones, who intends to run for a one-year term.

Two non-incumbents have pulled papers in the two-seat Lincoln-Sudbury committee race: state Rep. Carmine Gentile aide Ravi Simon and Maura Carty, who ran for an L-S seat in 2022.
Candidates have until Feb. 1 to return paperwork with enough signatures to get on the ballot. These are the candidates who had pulled papers as of Friday, according to the Sudbury League of Women Voters:

The town has also set the deadline for applying for a mail-in ballot as March 20. The town will send applications with the annual town census form, but residents can also download them on the town website.
The Sudbury spring town election will take place March 27.
