Colby College Welcomes Swampscott Residents to Class of 2019
Three Swampscott residents were accepted and enrolled as part of Colby College's Class of 2019.

Three Swampscott residents have enrolled as part of Colby College’s Class of 2019.
Namita Bhattacharya, a graduate of The Governor’s Academy, is the daughter of Subroto and Somaletha Bhattacharya; Austin Carrigan, a graduate of Saint Johns Preparatory School, is the son of Randall and Kimberly Carrigan; and Samantha Rizzo, a graduate of Swampscott High School, is the daughter of John and Carole Rizzo.
Colby College is located in Waterville, Maine. This fall’s class has 508 members and was selected from the largest and most academically qualified pool of applications in Colby’s 202-year history.

The class includes 33 Presidential Scholars, 23 Bunche Scholars, and 20 students from the United World Colleges. Eleven percent of students in the class are from Maine, 12 percent are international, and 21 percent are domestic students of color.
