Warriors Track and Field Make Big Advances in Only a Few Years | Tassinari Advances to All States
Wakefield Track and Field is well represented at the Division 3 State meet.

In the spring of 2009 the Wakefield Track and Field team started a new era with Coach Reinoso taking over the boys program with his new coaching staff. Back then Wakefield took a hurdler, three throwers, and a relay team to the Division 3 State Championships.
Since then, the program has grown tremendously, as the freshman from that year are now wrapping up stellar careers in their senior season. So much so that this past weekend the Warriors were represented in multiple events. Wakefield had someone in the 200, 400, 800, three boys in the mile, 2 mile, three relays, and two throwers for a total of 15 athletes.
Names like Tassinari, Miksis, Bridges, Bucchieri, Haddad, Pacitto, Cardoza, and Robertson have been regulars in the local paper, and they will be missed by the program. Robertson has been out with a heel injury, while the rest of them have been regular scorers in the league this season.

Middlesex League All Star honors went to sophomores Anthony Lawlor and Aaron Lucci, and seniors James Bridges, Marc Bucchieri, Jonathan Miksis, and Joe Pacitto. Brett Tassinari was named Middlesex small school MVP.
Also, a special thanks goes to the Wakefield Track and Field Boosters for all the support they have given the program over the past few years.

Brett Tassinari will represent Wakefield at the All State meet at Fitchburg State on Saturday starting at 3 p.m. Tassinari had a fantastic race to qualify in the 400 meters with a scorching time of 50.16. Coming down the final stretch, he was in distant third when he passed the top seed and closed in on the leader, just missing out by 0.01 seconds. One more step and the title would have been his. He will get another shot at cracking the 50 second barrier this weekend after graduation.
The 4 x 400 meter relay of Jackson Gallagher, Pat Scheeler, Jon Miksis, and Tassinari had a good day placing 6th and scoring points for the Warrors. See the results for the rest of the boys below.
