Links In A Chain was Jencks’ 7th solo CD, and was released in the fall of 2009, and rose to the top of the folk DJ Chart. The recording featured six new original compositions and six songs written by some of Jencks’ mentors and influences. Included is a vivid rendition of the American classic, Joe Hill. In his original compositions, Jencks explores a wide range of topics, including family history, staying in love, and a brand new piece in the Irish tradition called On Eireann’s Shore. This beautifully lilting love song genuinely honors his Irish heritage, and sounds as if it could have been written a century ago.
Kirsten Manville’s music is honest and heartfelt, whether she’s telling a story, delving into an emotion, or capturing a moment in time. With her ready smile, she invites her audience to share her love or music. Her first solo album, Come With Me, captures a range of emotions we all feel-love, loss, jealousy, anger, betrayal, excitement, and joy. Linden Tree coordinators are delighted to introduce her to our audience.
Thanks to support in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Wakefield Chapter, tickets will be $20, students under 13 $10. Doors will open at 7:30. Home made baked goods and beverages will be sold prior to the show and during intermission.
