LOOKING for a FEW MORE TEAMS !! - - 24th Annual TSF of Wakefield Trivia Team Challenge – THIS SATURDAY - February 27
The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield, Inc. (TSF) (formerly known as the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield, Inc.) is pleased to announce that its 24th Annual Trivia Team Challenge will be held this year on Saturday evening, February 27th. As was the case last year, the event will be held in the beautiful Parish Hall of St. Joseph’s Church on Albion Street in Wakefield. The Trivia Team Challenge is a unique local mid-winter tradition and one that is always full of challenging questions, great raffles and tons of laughs, all for a truly worthy cause.
Last year’s event drew a total of 41 teams and the winner of the coveted Championship Trophy was Beach City Boys, captained by Wakefield’s own Stephen Pavey. Organizers of this year’s event are hoping for an even larger turnout to support their efforts to provide much needed scholarships for deserving Wakefield college students
The format for the evening’s fun will be the same as in past years. Teams of up to four players compete against each other in three 25-question rounds to determine the finalists which will compete in a fourth round to determine 6 trophy placement winners. A seventh trophy is also awarded to the highest scoring first year team that does not win one of the six placing trophies. Team members sit together as a group to arrive at consensus team answers to questions in such categories as sports, entertainment, history, music, television, geography, literature and odds and ends. Each team captain is responsible for entering his group’s responses on an answer sheet which is corrected at the end of each round.

The entry fee for this year’s event is a tax-deductible donation of $120 payable to TSF of Wakefield, Inc. All proceeds from the event go directly to the general fund of the organization and are awarded as scholarships in June to Wakefield college students. Over the past 23 Trivia Team Challenges, TSF has raised well over $110,000 for local scholarship assistance.
This year’s event likely will be a sellout, so interested teams are encouraged to submit their entry forms early. To obtain more information about the event or to receive an application form, teams can contact Trivia Team Challenge event chairperson Noel Bailey at nebailey25@gmail.com or Roberta DiNitto at the TSF Office at the Americal Civic Center at 781-245-4890 or tsfofwakefield@earthlink.net. The directors of the TSF of Wakefield, Inc. looks forward to seeing tons of local trivia fans and supporters at their 24th Annual Trivia Team Challenge on Saturday evening February 27th beginning at 7PM at the Parish Hall of St. Joseph’s Church in Wakefield. Please make your plans now to participate in this great annual event!
