The Savings Bank visits the Greenwood School Community Garden

The Savings Bank representatives (back row, from left) Geri Rowe, Manager of the Greenwood Office; Bruce Donovan, Vice President – Branch Administration; and Ally Houghton, Marketing Coordinator had an opportunity to visit the Greenwood School Community Garden where they talked to the third graders about their sensory garden. The students use the garden for science, fine arts and other educational purposes, and to provide produce for the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry.

The Savings Bank sponsors the garden which provides students with an opportunity to learn about gardening, produce and giving back to the community. Introduced in 2016, the program is part of the grade three curriculum at the school.

The Greenwood School Community Garden is teaching students about gardening, produce and giving back to the community thanks to the sponsorship of The Savings Bank. Officers from The Savings Bank recently visited the Greenwood School’s Community Garden to see the progress of the herb and sensory gardens planted by the students. The Savings Bank sponsored the garden that provides students with an opportunity to learn about gardening, produce and giving back to the community.

The Bank representatives (back, right) Ally Houghton, Marketing Coordinator; Bruce Donovan, Vice President – Branch Administration; and Geri Rowe, Manager of the Greenwood Office congratulated the first graders for the herb garden they planted and lovingly maintain.


Greenwood School third graders had an opportunity to thank The Savings Bank for their donation which created the school’s Community Garden. The Bank made the donation earlier this year. Bank representatives (back row, left to right) Ally Houghton, Marketing Coordinator; Bruce Donovan, Vice President – Branch Administration; and Geri Rowe, Manager of the Greenwood Office had a chance to see the results of the students’ efforts.
