From Tin Can to Plant Person, Another Great Program by the Boys & Girls Club
The Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham and Wakefield continue their craft program in Wakefield!
Wakefield—On Wednesday, February 3rd visit the Boys & Girls Club of Wakefield at 4:00pm to help coax some tin cans out of retirement. If you are 7-10 years old and would like to learn about the many benefits of indoor plants, please join us. We will introduce you to some of the hardest working houseplants around and talk about what the scientists at NASA love about them. Then we will pull some tin cans out of their recycle-retirement, give them a new face, fill them with soil and sow seeds for their new head of hair. Each participant will take home a plant person and hopefully a new enthusiasm for why plants are so important in our lives, even and especially in the winter-time.
This activity is just one of a variety of activities available to our members at no additional cost to the $25 annual membership fee. Membership is open to all young people ages 7-18. If you are not a member yet you can become a member at www.bgcwakefield.org. Come down to the Boys & Girls Club of Wakefield located in the lower level of the Americal Civic Center at 467 Main Street to take a tour and learn more about what they offer. For more information contact Club Director Mike Stevens at mstevens@bgcwakefield.org or (781)246-1343. The Club is open to members Monday through Friday 2:00-6:00pm.
